This trips up almost every new writer: you click Save, the article looks done, but it never appears on your help center. That is because saving and publishing are two different things.
Save keeps the current status
Save stores your changes and keeps the article at whatever status it already has. A new article is a Draft, so saving a draft leaves it a draft. It does not go public, no matter how many times you save.
Publish makes it live
Publish sets the status to Published and puts the article on your help center. Use the green Publish button, or set Status to Published and Save. Both go live.
How to be sure
- Save and Publish show the same confirmation, so do not rely on the message. Check the Status badge: it must read Published.
- Once an article is published, there is no Publish button any more, and every Save republishes it live immediately. So on a live article, an edit goes public the moment you save it.
