Create a help center article

Start a new help center article and fill in the editor. Learn the two entry points, what each field is for, and why a new article is not public to readers yet.

You write help center articles in a full-page editor. There are two ways to start one, and both open the same editor with a new draft.

Start an article

  • On the help center Overview, click New Content.
  • Or in Content, click New Article.

Either one creates a new article and opens it. A new article starts from a short starter template that you replace with your own content. You need content-editing access; the help center itself is on the Light plan and above. See Understand Super Admin and Member roles.

Fill in the editor

  • Title at the top.
  • Description, a short summary for search and AI. This is not your intro paragraph; write the article in the body below it.
  • The body, where you write and format the article.
  • In the sidebar: Move To a collection, a Featured Image, and Created By.

Good to know

  • A new article is a Draft and is not on your public help center until you publish it. Publishing is covered in its own article.
  • The article's language is fixed to your help center's language, and its type is fixed. You do not pick these in the editor.
  • The editor needs a desktop-sized screen, so if the Save and Publish buttons are missing, widen your window.
