If your number is on a non-Twilio carrier such as Telnyx, Bandwidth or Vonage, you can bring it to Mando with Bring your own SIP. You point your carrier at the SIP host Mando gives you, and no carrier API access is needed.
Set up the trunk in Mando
Go to Customer Service > Settings > Voice and find the Bring your own SIP card.
- Pick your Carrier.
- Enter the Phone number (E.164), with a leading + and country code.
- Enter your carrier's Signaling CIDRs, the IP ranges it sends calls from. For Telnyx these are pre-filled; for others, get them from your carrier's support.
- Click Connect SIP trunk.
Point your carrier at Mando
After it provisions, a Trunk provisioned panel shows a SIP host, a SIP URI to dial, and the transport. Copy these from the panel, then in your carrier's own console create a SIP destination pointed at that SIP host, and assign your number to it.
Then dial the number to test. Your AI agent should pick up.
Verify ownership
A new number shows Pending verification. Click Verify ownership, then dial the number within two minutes. Once the AI greets you, the number auto-verifies and the badge turns to Verified.
The trunk is secured by the signaling IPs you entered, so there is no SIP username or password. If callers from a region are rejected, add that region's signaling IPs to the CIDR list.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give Mando my carrier login?
No. Mando never talks to your carrier. You do all the routing in your own carrier console.
Can I forward calls to a human number on this?
Phone-to-phone forwarding is not supported on bring-your-own-SIP yet. Escalations go to your dashboard inbox instead.
I disconnected a number but calls still arrive.
Also remove the SIP destination in your carrier console. Mando does not change your carrier-side settings.
