Publishing an article is what takes it from a private draft to a post readers can find on your Newsroom. Saving alone does not do this.
Publish it
- Click the green Publish button in the editor, or
- set Status to Published in the sidebar and Save.
Both do the same thing. The article goes live on your public Newsroom, is added to your sitemap, and becomes searchable on your site.
Save is not Publish
Save stores your changes and keeps the current status. A new article is a Draft, so saving a draft leaves it a draft; it does not go public. The confirmation is the same for Save and Publish, so check the Status reads Published to be sure it is live.
Editing and taking it down
After the first publish the Publish button is gone: editing and saving a published article republishes it live right away. To take an article back down, set its Status to Draft or Archived and Save; there is no separate Unpublish button.
