By default, AI Search hides products that are out of stock, so visitors do not find items they cannot buy. You control this in your search app settings.
Where the setting is
Open your AI Search app and go to Settings > Products.
Use Exclude out-of-stock products from search. It is on by default.
It hides only products that are explicitly marked out of stock. Products that are in stock, or whose stock is unknown, still appear, and non-product content like pages is never affected.
It affects more than search
This is a shared, workspace-wide commerce setting, not a search-only switch. The same rule is used by your AI chat agent, voice, and AI Page, and the dashboard notes this next to the toggle. Changing it here changes it in all of those places, and the most recent change wins.
To show out-of-stock products
Turn Exclude out-of-stock products from search off. Out-of-stock items then appear in results, with an Out of stock marker on the card. To see which of your products AI Search can show, see What content appears in AI Search results.
