A trigger webhook works the opposite way to the others: your own system sends Mando a signed request, and Mando fills an approved WhatsApp template from it and sends that message to one recipient. The reply lands in your inbox for the AI to handle.
Turn the feature on
Trigger webhooks are enabled per organization. If you do not see them, ask us to switch on event triggers for your workspace. You also need a connected WhatsApp number and at least one approved template.
Create a trigger
- Create a New trigger and give it a name.
- Pick the approved WhatsApp template it will send.
- Map the recipient and each template variable to a field in your event, then activate it.
A trigger stays a draft until the recipient and every required variable are mapped.
Point your system at the URL
The Connection card shows a Webhook URL and a Signing secret. From your system, send a POST with a JSON body to that URL and sign each request with the secret. Mando reads the recipient and variables from your JSON, then sends the template.
Frequently asked questions
What does Mando send back?
The webhook is receive-only. It replies with a status for your request; the actual message is the WhatsApp template to the recipient.
Can I resend safely?
Yes. Identical requests are de-duplicated, so a retry will not send twice.
Why is my request rejected?
Most rejections are a signing problem. See the article on trigger 401 errors.
