On the free plan you can have one content source connected: either a website crawl or one store. Adding a second is blocked, with a message telling you to remove the current source or upgrade.
Paid plans have no such restriction.
What uses the slot
The slot is used by a website crawl, or by a store connection to Salla, Shopify, Zid or WooCommerce.
These do not use it: uploaded files, articles you write, snippets, videos, and your messaging channels. You can connect WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and email on the free plan without touching this limit at all.
The rule is not symmetrical
This surprises people, so it is worth stating plainly.
- Website first, then a store: allowed. The store takes over the slot.
- Store first, then a website: blocked. You must remove the store or upgrade.
- Website, then another website: blocked. Only one crawl at a time.
- Reconnecting the same store: allowed. Connecting Shopify again when Shopify already holds the slot is fine.
Going from a website to a store is allowed, but it is not free of consequence. Read the next section before you do it.
Connecting a store removes your website content
When a store takes over the slot on the free plan, your crawled website pages are deleted. Not paused or archived. Deleted, with no warning first and no way to undo it.
If your website content matters to you, upgrade before connecting a store, or accept that you will need to crawl the site again later.
If a source is disconnected
A store whose connection has expired, for example after you uninstalled the app, stops holding the slot. That is deliberate, so you can always reconnect.

No. Channels are separate from content sources.
Can I have a website and a store together?
Not on the free plan. Upgrading removes the restriction.

The check that decides is on the server, so an available looking button can still be refused. The message will tell you the slot is taken.
