Turn on the Mando widget in your Shopify theme

Shopify keeps app widgets off until you enable them. Use the Activate widget button, press Save in your theme editor, then load your storefront to confirm.

Connecting your Shopify store does not put the chat widget on your storefront. Shopify keeps app widgets switched off until a merchant enables them, and Mando cannot switch it on for you. This is a Shopify rule, not a Mando limitation.

Turning it on takes three actions and about a minute.

Steps

  1. In Mando, select Activate widget. You will find it in the welcome setup, and on the Shopify tile in Content Library, then Sources, as Activate widget on storefront.
  2. Your Shopify theme editor opens in a new tab, already showing app embeds with Mando switched on.
  3. Press Save in the theme editor. This step is required. The link only pre-selects the switch, and nothing takes effect until you save.
  4. Open your storefront in a browser and load any page.

Why you have to visit your storefront

Mando confirms the widget is live by detecting it actually loading on a real storefront page. Saving in the theme editor alone will not flip the status, because a preview is not a storefront visit.

So load your store, and Mando updates by itself. On the Shopify tile, the Activate widget button disappearing is your signal that it worked.

Frequently asked questions

Are there settings on the embed?

No. The embed has nothing to configure. You style the widget from Mando.

Do I need to edit theme code?

No. It is a toggle and a save.

The status has not updated yet.

Give it a minute and load a storefront page again. The check is not instant and is not meant to be refreshed repeatedly.
