Pairing failures come down to two questions: can Mando reach your plugin at all, and did your site accept the code. The error message tells you which.
Could not reach the plugin REST API
Mando could not get a usable response from your site. The message includes the detail your site returned, which is what points at the cause.
- The message mentions HTML instead of JSON. The plugin is not activated, or a caching or security plugin is blocking your WordPress REST API. Activate the plugin, allow requests to the REST API, and try again.
- The message shows a 403 and the word forbidden. Your site was reached fine but refused the code. Go to the next section.
- Nothing responded at all. The site URL is likely wrong, or the site is not reachable from the internet. Check the address you typed.
The code was refused
Your site returns the same refusal whether the code has expired, has already been used, or was mistyped. It does not tell you which, deliberately, so the message cannot be used to probe your site.
That makes the fix the same in every case, and it is quick:
- Go to Mando CX in wp-admin.
- Select Regenerate code.
- Copy the new code and paste it into Mando straight away.
Codes are short lived and single use. If you generated one, went to make coffee and came back, generate another.
Site URL errors
Site URL must use HTTPS. Enter the https address of your site. A plain http address is not accepted.
Invalid site URL. The address could not be read as a web address. Use the full form, like https://your-site.com.
Other failures
Incomplete pairing response. Your site answered but did not send its credentials. Deactivate the Mando CX plugin, activate it again so it regenerates them, then re-pair.
Invalid JSON in the response. Another plugin or your theme is adding stray output to your site responses. Deactivate other plugins to find the culprit, then retry.
Free plan is limited to one website or store. Not a pairing fault. Remove your existing source, or upgrade.

Can I tell whether my code expired or was already used?
No, and that is by design. Regenerate a fresh code either way.
Does a typo in my site URL cause a mismatch error?
There is no mismatch check. A wrong address simply cannot be reached, so you see a connection error instead.
My site is behind a firewall or on a private network.
Mando has to reach your site to pair with it, so it needs to be publicly reachable.
