Zid install stuck on the Almost there screen

What the Almost there screen means during a Zid install, the real causes behind it, and why pressing Try again works for one of them but not the others.

Your Zid install ended on a screen headed Almost there, saying the store could not be connected automatically, with Try again and Go to dashboard buttons.

What it means

Something on the Mando side stopped the connection from completing. It has nothing to do with what happened on Zid: if you had declined the permissions or closed that screen, you would never have reached this page in the first place.

The causes

Your workspace was still being created. A new workspace builds your first AI agent in the background, and the install can get there first. Mando keeps retrying quietly for about ten seconds before giving up and showing this screen. Try again resolves this.

You are on the free plan with another source already connected. The free plan allows one website or store in total. Try again will not help here, and the screen unfortunately does not tell you this is the reason.

Your account is not an admin. Connecting a store requires Admin or Super Admin. A Member will keep hitting this screen.

What to do

  1. Select Try again once. This is enough whenever the workspace was simply still setting up.
  2. If it fails again, stop retrying and check the other two causes instead.
  3. Confirm your role is Admin or Super Admin, or ask an admin to run the install.
  4. Check Content Library, then Sources, for an existing website or store. On the free plan, remove it or upgrade.
  5. Then use Go to dashboard and connect from the Zid tile in Sources.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to reinstall from Zid?

No. Try again continues the connection where it stopped.

Is my store partly connected?

No. This screen means the connection did not complete.

I saw a different screen saying authentication failed.

That is a separate failure, earlier in the handshake. Start the install again from the Zid App Market.
