A Mando help center is a public self-serve site that you write yourself. You group articles into collections, publish them, and readers browse or search them without opening a conversation with your team.
What you publish into it
A help center holds two things, and you create both in the dashboard:
Collections group related articles, such as Getting Started or Billing.
Articles are the pages readers open. Every article starts as a draft, and only published articles appear on the public site.
Nothing is generated for you and nothing is pulled in from your website. The site shows exactly the articles you write. If you already organise material in your content library, Organize your content library using collections follows the same idea.
Where your help center lives
Every help center gets its own public web address the moment you create it. Until you connect a domain of your own, that address is a Mando one built from the app. Connect a custom domain and the site serves on yours instead.
The site only answers visitors while the help center is switched on. While it is off, visitors are sent away and search engines are told not to crawl it.
What you need before it goes live
A plan that includes the Help Center. It is available from the Light plan upward, so on lower plans the option is greyed out.
An admin account, because creating an app and editing its settings are admin actions.
At least one published article, so the site has something to show readers.
What a help center does not do
It does not translate your articles. Each language you publish in is written separately.
It does not show drafts. A draft article address returns a not found page until you publish it.
It does not need a reader login. Everything on the site is public to anyone with the address.
